The Riverhouse {AFTER}...

Here it is...
The first few pictures are the before and after next to each other from pretty much the same view. In some pictures it is hard to believe that it is event the same house at all!
A couple things...we changed it from a split entry by moving the front door to where the top window was (the one by the chimney in the before picture). There is now a side entry and we built the ground up around it...and I use the term "we" loosely. This was all thanks to my hubby and some great friends and family! If you look closely in these pictures there will be things that you can tell haven't been completely finished yet...but we are living in it and are happy to be "home."

The kitchen had a pretty big change too...we moved some counters and cabinets and added a pantry, painted, changed hardware, changed appliances...oh and cleaned!!!
This is where a huge change took place (above). We tore out the wall and changed all the windows so that you can actually see the river...hence the name "The Riverhouse."

See the window in the before picture, that was cut out to be the door that walks into the entryway...can you see it now?

Here are some more pictures of the house now...we love it so much and are so thankful to be living here!

This picture below is now the staircase landing...it was where the front door was. Right where that mirror was.

We are SOOO thankful for everyone who was so kind in helping in so many ways! Thanks a ton!!!!!

The Riverhouse {BEFORE}...

Ok...here is what we call "The Riverhouse." In ALL of its glory...

The color was a nice "hose green" as I called it. Split entry. That was this house's only major downfall main downfall.

The front door...and it's lovely sidelights. You walked in the door...and WHAM the wall was right there- you either go up or down.

The kitchen, lots of cabinets, lots of orange cabinets...

...a little closer look...

...this is the living room. Take a close look at that fireplace, the window and the wall on the left. Big changes going on there. And check out that cutie in the corner.

...the is the back of that room above. It will also have a huge change. See the sun room through the glass door...remember that too. I might just have to do some side by side pictures because...seriously...this house looks completely different now!!!!

Mmmmm....gotta love the green.

Master bath...

The main bath...yes, we did get rid of that toilet seat. I know...bummer.

Now, here is the real shame. I didn't get many before pictures of the basement. It was bad. Real bad:) In fact, when we would come to look at the house before we even bought it or fixed it up at all I would tell Brig to put his hands in his pockets and not to touch ANYTHING!

Now...is your head just spinning with all of this house's potential? That is what happened when we saw it...just wait for the after!!!!

Construction Math...

We are in the middle of our remodel project (our third and a half in five and a half years...anybody else know Einstein's definition of insanity!?!) So things are a bit crazy around here...our computer is not hooked up so I am blogging  from my parent's house using pictures from my "dumb" phone ( I am totally not complaining...it is just not a smart phone and I don't know how else to describe it!)
And I was thinking that if our constuction experience could be put into a math equation it would be something like this...

When Cory and I did our first remodel, the equation looked kind of like this: 1+1=2 (and 2 times the work getting done) however 1x1=4 which means that when Cory and I are multiplied and have a product of 2 sweet little kiddos, there is a great division in the work that is accomplished!
1+1=2 > 1x1=4/3
Now I am really not a math genius (I know...big suprise huh!) But you tell me what that all sums up to...

Crazy House...

Things have been a bit wild around here the last week.
Why?

A whole lotta this...

...zaSbecause we are getting ready to live here...

...and work "glubs" are definitely required! Here we go...ready or not!!!!

For Sale...

That's right!  This lil' thing has found its way into our front yard!  We are selling our house...it has been fun and it sure has changed a lot (to see some of the remodel process click RIGHT HERE!) but we decided it was time to try and get a little more space...inside and outside.

So we will wait and see what happens to the house that both our kids have always lived in,
the house that has had some drastic changes including almost doubling in size,
the house with a whole lot of fun memories,
the house that brought us back to Emmett!

We are pretty excited and hopeful for what the future holds...who knows...maybe Brig will have his DREAM come true!

We might get crazy and do YET ANOTHER REMODEL! (most likely because we are insane like that!)

But until then we are still just merrily rolling along in this sweet little house!

The Big Reveal

So we moved to Emmett (as Mr. & Mrs. Cory Walker) a little over 2 years ago.  We bought a little house.  I mean tiny.  Like 660 sq ft tiny.  And we have spent the past 2 years remodeling.  We did all kinds of things to this home of ours...like add 400 sq feet.  Why?  Why do we do this to ourselves?  Well because we are just so dang handy and have insane builder and contractor skills.  Or something like that...

So here is a before shot of our humble abode
(thanks to Google Earth)

And here is the after...

...and the inside...OH! the inside...

And my camera died before I could take too many after pictures but here are a couple....

Needless to say...the brown and yellow appliances are no more. And neither is the green floor.

So...will we do this insane, ridiculous, back breaking task of remodeling another house...I only wish I could say no...but I have a feeling that I have not used my last hammer, crow bar, or grout trowel.

Hello Emmett!!!

It's official, we have moved! We are now living in happy-little-close-to-home- Emmett. Our house is tiny, our lot is about 1/10 the size of our old one, Cory has a 40 minute vs 5 minute drive to work...and yet...We LOVE it!!! It fits so much better than our old house. So much better. We are really excited for the transition. And call us crazy, but we did the remodel thing again. I don't have pictures yet because a lot of our stuff is still in random places until I can find a home for it in our little home. I will try to get some soon though...it is worth the wait! :)

I will also try to get some preggo pics up soon. Let me tell ya, the little fella must be growing because I think I have doubled in size the past week. A little difficult to adjust to at times but he is also starting to kick and that makes up for this new fatness!

House Project...

Here is a little inside look at what kept us very busy for the first 5-6 months of our marriage. We were ambitious and moved a house...yes, moved it. They cut the house in 3 pieces and moved it over to our lot. Then, the remodel began...we did it all (with a lot of help from family and friends!) Everything from plumbing to sheetrock to roofing to wiring to painting to tile and on and on and on. It was a lot of hard work but was worth it! However, we are so happy it is finally over and have now decided to brave the market and try our luck with selling it. We will see how it goes. Here are some before and after pictures (and one in-between). As you can see, it came a long way.
