Our Cookies...

These are THE cookies at our house.
We love them and eat way too many when we cook them. We love them so much and eat so many of them, that they have kind of become part of our little family's history...actually- since the recipe is from Cory's mom...they are really part of our family history! Who knew family history could be so delicious.

Anyways, I thought the recipe needed to be on our blog.

Chocolate Chip cookies
 ¾ c. crisco
1 ¼ cup brown sugar
2 T milk
1 T vanilla
1 egg
1 ¾ c. flour
1 t. salt
¾ t. baking soda
Chocolate chips

Bake 375*  8- 10 minutes
4x
3 c. Crisco
5 c. brown sugar
8 T milk
4 T. Vanilla
4 Eggs
7 C. Flour
4 t. Salt
3 t.  Baking Soda
Chocolate chips

Yes, that is correct. 4x. Sometimes a single or double batch is just not enough. Ok, a single batch is never enough.

Here are a few of our notes...
-Once all the ingredients have been added- mix for quite a while. It makes them yummier for some reason.
-We never use a whole bag of chocolate chips- even for the 4x recipe. We like more cookie than chocolate. And we ONLY use milk chocolate chips.
-DO NOT OVER COOK THEM!!! Take them out at 8 min. Period. They will look doughy, so just let them sit on the pan for a few more minutes. This will ensure that the cookies are soft...the way they should be. This Walker family does not do crunchy cookies.
-Honestly, these cookies never seem to turn out the same with different people making them. Sometimes they aren't even the same for me when I make them...but when the stars align (which happens more often than not) they are delish!!!

Willow Creek

We love Willow Creek...It is Cory's secret fishing spot
Cory loves Willow Creek...
always has
and always will.
And Cory is now doing all he can do help Brig to love both fishing and willow creek.
So whenever we get a chance we try and head up the road to the sweet trickling little stream full of happy mini-fish ready and willing to take a bite of the juicy worms we offer...

Top O' the Morning Pot of Gold

I LOVE traditions and I LOVE the more obscure holidays...like St. Patty's Day... so here is a recipe that is really easy, really good and is going to be a new St. Patrick's Day tradition breakfast.
Pot of Gold Breakfast Buns
18 frozen dinner rolls...you may be tempted to use more and think that 18 is simply not enough...don't do it. 18 IS enough. Trust me.
1 package of Butterscotch cook n serve pudding. NOT instant
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c chopped pecans- don't cut these out- just don't do it.
1/2 c butter
Place frozen dinner rolls in a bundt pan, sprinkle with brown sugar, dry pudding mix and pecans. Cover with saran wrap and Let raise over night. Ohh and Ahh over the lovely high risin buns before you eyes the next morning and then drizzle with butter. This part gets messy.
Bake at 350 for 25 min.
Enjoy your lovely pot of gold!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
