Never a dull moment!

I am the sunbeam teacher in church. Just in case there is any confusion they are 3 year olds who will be turing 4 this year. So I get them for the last two hours of church. Yes, I teach them all by myself... all 12 of them! Needless to say, it can be quite entertaining at times, maybe more so than I would like now and then, but Cory and I do get to laugh each Sunday when I come home and tell him what happened in class. Here is the latest conversation that still has me smiling...

Girl: What is in your tummy?
Me: A baby.
Girl: Can I see it?
Me: Not until he comes out.
Girl: How will he come out?
Me: That is something you will have to ask your mommies and daddies.
A little later...
Girl: Does he come out of your mouth?
Me: Well, not exactly...on with the lesson!

Oh the things we learn in Primary!

  1. That is so cute. So why didn't you want to tell her how babies come out, Megan? JK! My kids asked me the same question recently. I try to be straight up with them, so I told them and they didn't think much of it. When Weston was little, his mom told him babies come out of a hole in womens' legs. So until high school he really thought they came out of a hole in the leg!
It was fun seeing you last night. You look GREAT!! 6 more weeks!

  2. I am thankful the class didn't get the "baby" education. Kade loves you as a teacher. Out of the Mouth. . .that would make it a pretty sharp delivery canal, ouch!

  3. My friend's 4 year old thinks a shovel is used to bring the baby out of the tummy, but he clarified this is done "very gently" Lori Lyn (Christy's sister)
