We decided that we would try and go camping this week.
We decided (after a few hours into our excursion) our camping adventure needed a theme:
It was an adventure for sure.
We kicked off what was going to be our 2 night vacation by driving up to a place called Clear Creek. It was so pretty but it took us a really long time to find a camp spot...It took us probably 2 hours to drive there. After driving about 20 minutes to far, we turned around and settled in to a nice little camp area. We set up camp...well Cory set up camp. On the way up I got so sick...I never get sick! So while he watched the kids and set up...I writhed in pain (that is only a slight exaggeration!) and prayed it would go away so we could get on with the fun. It didn't really get better and Cory insisted we head home. So he packed everything back up and we piled in the car to make the long drive home.
Come What May, And Love It...
We did have dinner over the campfire, we saw all kinds of wildlife in the car, I soon felt better, we slept in our own beds, Brig begged to go "Camping" again the next morning.
So the next morning- we headed up again- this time to a much closer area...not quite as pretty but still nice and campy.
We set up again and were ready to get down to business. Then we realized that neither of us grabbed the duffle bag...with all of our clothes and hygiene essentials. Or a phone.
Come What May, And Love It...
We roughed it a little more than normal but it was just one night and we made due with what we had. We certainly didn't suffer by any means.
We ate fished, 4-wheeled, played, rolled big rocks into the water, ate a little dirt;), floated on a huge log, saw more wildlife, read books, ate donuts for breakfast, spent all our time together and enjoyed being outside. It was perfect- we realize that camping with kids is mostly done in order to create memories for the kids and not so much for rest and rejuvination for the parents. But we most certainly LOVED IT!

We thought the top picture of the splash was a fish at first! We were like, "woah!!!". haha. Thanks for the camping advice...hopefully our first experience goes a little better.
